  6. There’s a specific packaging used by publishing houses to ship bundles of magazines, and I want to kiss my mailman whenever he delivers one to my doorstep. Most likely, it means a magazine has featured one of my weddings, and the publishers have shipped me a bunch of copies to try and quench my mom’s insatiable need to hand them out to everyone she knows.

Such was the case today, as I discovered The Knot Magazine featured one of my favourite weddings from last year in their upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 edition. Huzzah! Check out more photos from Lisa and Chris’s wedding in Norfolk, VA, and their engagement session up in Brooklyn, NY.

And for god’s sake, please get engaged already so I can photograph your wedding. (Yes, I’m talking to you.)

  7. Haven’t posted any of my own work in a while. Here’s one of my favourite couples for 2010.

  8. Apple Aperture Workshop with Justin Hankins - Monday, 9/28

My friends at Apple asked me to put together a workshop to teach people how I use Aperture in my photography workflow. The workshop is 9/28 at 6pm, and will be hosted by Apple MacArthur Center in Norfolk, VA.

If you’re unfamiliar with Aperture, it’s a software application by Apple that enables me to edit and manage the thousands of photographs I take every week. It’s as vital to my business as my camera, and I’ll be providing examples of how I use it in my daily life.

My presentation will focus on workflow, not necessarily photography, so it should appeal to anybody who takes a lot of photos and is interested in managing them better. Which is to say: you don’t have to be a wedding photographer, or even a professional photographer, to come out and learn something! If you’re stretching iPhoto to its limits, or you’re looking for an alternative to Photoshop and Lightroom, come out and kick the tires on Aperture with me.

If you’re interested in attending, please add yourself to the guest list on Facebook.

And please reblog this if you might have followers who would be interested! (I’ll probably reblog this all week, so forgive me ahead of time :p)
