Hello, my name is Justin Hankins, and I'm a photographer based in Virginia Beach. I travel around the world documenting the happiest moments in people's lives. This is my little photo tumblr to post odds n' ends from my work and other images that inspire me.
Note: Much of the information I post is "reblogged" from other people using the Tumblr publishing system. So please exercise caution when following reblog links -- they may contain content you find objectionable.

Happy Fat Tuesday
Ten years ago was my first Mardi Gras, as well as the nascent of my love affair with New Orleans. GF’s family used to live there. Ain’t nothing better than tagging along for a local’s approach to the festivities.
(Also: this was the first year I made their annual family Christmas card. Big step in our relationship! Whee!)

ROUTINE - “One man tries to reach the girl of his dreams.”
For Valentine’s Day, a short I made with Dave, Samantha, Adam B., Evan B., Craig, Morgan, and Dan. Hope you enjoy it, and have a great holiday weekend.
Dear Drew Brees: While you were waking up to start your pre-game morning rituals, I was waking up to bake muffuletta bread. I’m glad both of us were on top of our games. Please stop by sometime so I can make you one. Thx, mgmt.
Now Available: Aperture 3
Holy crap, today feels like Christmas. I spend 80% of my workday in this application, so even minor changes feel like somebody came into my office and put in a huge new bay window overlooking the beach. I think a few of my suggestions even made it into the new release — my requirements are so bizarre and specific, that I can’t imagine others having need for them. But I hope so!

I just spent $72 on groceries to prep for our annual Muffuletta massacre. We don’t get to head down to Mardi Gras as often as we’d like (boo!), so we celebrate in the next best way: food. And since the Saints are in the Super Bowl this weekend, we moved our food fiesta up a couple weeks. I’ve gotta brave the weather and shoot a wedding all-day tomorrow, but my heart and mind will be swimming in olive salad.
Tai Shan leaves the zoo for China
Tai Shan, the adolescent giant panda who has been a beloved symbol of Washington for the past four years, left town Thursday morning for China after a week of farewells and tearful goodbyes. (via WaPo)
Bye Tai! :( Here’s hoping you always have a honey-coated crate to enjoy at your leisure.
